Karina has been in the medical billing field since 1998, and has been providing expert services to trial attorneys since prior to 2006, including testifying in superior and federal courts throughout the United States.

The Vega Co. was formed in 2009 following the sale of Vega Systems, Inc (VSI).  The forensics division of The Vega Co, now known as Alliance Legal Services, began as part of VSI in 2006 and offers

Having worked with hundreds of cases with medical expenses up to and above $1,000,000, and over 25 years of experience in the medical billing field, Alliance Legal Services offers creation and maintenance of complex spreadsheets, declarations and reports.  Karina offers analysis of damages to both plaintiffs and defense attorneys.  She is available to speak at depositions and provide trial testimony.  Karina has been qualified in both Superior and Federal Courts throughout the United States on numerous occasions. 

Vega Systems, Inc., founder, owner and operator:  VSI provided medical billing and practice management services to physicians as well as forensic assistance to attorneys.  Responsibilities included every aspect of building the business from the ground up, including but not limited to: Overseeing staff and delegating projects and work, organizing company systems, creation and upkeep of Operations Manual, any and all other aspects of company management.

The business of Medical Billing was started by Karina as a side project in 1998. A business license was obtained in 2001, and became incorporated in 2003 as Vega Systems, Inc (VSI).  VSI was sold on March 31st, 2009 with five employees and processing approximately $350,000 worth of medical claims per month, providing services to over fifty medical practices, several of which contained over ten medical providers within the practice.  VSI catered to all types of providers and handled everything after a patient was seen. 

Healthcare Business Management Association: Data Science Committee Member and Education Committee Member.

The mission of the Data Science Committee is to be an advocate for HBMA membership by establishing directives utilizing emerging analytic and technology tools to aggregate confidential data for measurement and benchmarking for the benefit of the membership.

HBMA Education Committee is charged with finding new and innovative ways to meet the needs of its members, expand and grow our membership, add diversity, and deliver new, meaningful, and exciting programs.  As part of the committee Karina assists with planning seminars, opens call for speakers, reviewing abstracts, creating schedules, and approving education.

Bastyr University: Division of Dietetics Advisory board member.  Karina was first invited to speak to the graduating class by way of outlining and presenting lectures regarding medical billing and practice management.  Around the same time, she was also recruited to sit as a billing expert for the advisory board and asked to attend quarterly meetings held at Bastyr University to assist in the development of all aspects of the Dietetics Educations programs, internships, etc.
